Romsey Town Council Grant Scheme
What is a grant?
A grant is a sum of money provided by a local authority (such as a district, borough, or county council) to individuals, community groups, charities, or businesses. Unlike a loan, this money does not need to be paid back provided it is used for its stated purpose.
Who can apply?
Any local groups or individuals who plan to use the funds to benfit the Romsey community and who fit the below criteria:
How do you apply for a grant?
A grant application form must be completed and submitted to Romsey Town Council's Chief Officer. The application will be reviewed by the councillors at the next Buildings & Community meeting, however applications can be discussed at other meetings, if deemed appropraite by the Chief Officer.

- Bodies whose activities promote or support Romsey Town and its residents (the tax payer)
- Support local activities with group involvement (vs. individual endeavour)
- Promote or support schemes which involve Romsey residents
- Support volunteer groups who in turn support Romsey residents

Please ensure your application form includes the following information:
- What the Grant is for?
- Why is the Grant needed?
- How much do you want?
- How will this benefit Romsey and its residents?
- The applicant must provide the latest Statement of Accounts which includes income and expenditure and the state of reserves.
- Please provide information on any other bodies who will be approached to contribute to the scheme, and with the total sum being sort from other potential sources.
- The applicant needs to inform Romsey Town Council if they have had a previous grant, how it was spent and indicate if the intended benefit was achieved.
